Poussière de Lune

La Cie des Chaussons Rouges & Toine Thys (BE)

Performance created in situ

A steel cable, a saxophone, some dance steps over the abyss. “Poussière de lune” is a performance created in the « Carrière de l’Ermitage » especially for the festival Le Rallye de la Petite Reine. With the « Contemplations project », the company Les Chaussons Rouges develops a series of performances, each time unique, in particular places with a strong emotional or historical force. The proposal is to place a thread in the landscape and by doing so to invite you to dive into new perspectives and to rediscover the place differently.

Plunge into the monochrome mountains, shards of porfyr (stone of the town) and moon dust.

The company

The company was founded in 2012 in Brussels by tightrope walkers Audrey Bossuyt and Marta Lodoli. Les Chaussons rouges stand out for their very graphic, wordless, elegant and sober shows in which evocative and poetic choreography are intertwined.

Fuelled by extensive research and writing, the creations revolve around the discipline of the wire, with echoes of other circus forms such as the manipulation of objects, aerial apparatus and the Chinese mast. There are also influences from contemporary dance and sculptural installation, the former in the body language of the acrobats, the latter in the construction and use of the apparatus.
